5 Items Every Great Padel Player Must Have
Do you want to be a “proper” padel player, and been seen as a threat from your opposition?
Well, here is a list to get you there.
Here are 5 items every GREAT padel player MUST have.
1. A Padel Racket That Suits You
Of course you need a padel racket, but it shocks me when I see people picking up a different padel racket each time they play.
Or even worse, just a racket that clearly isn’t designed for them and their style of play.
If you want to learn about choosing a padel racket that is good for YOU. Then check out this guide: how to choose a padel racket
Your racket should define who you are, so if you are a tactical player, who moves players around the court with placement and soft shots. Then a lightweight, control racket like the Nox Luxury Control L.6 or the Ml10 Pro Cup would be good for you.
The FINEST padel players, have a racket that suits their game perfectly.
2. A Padel Bag
If you are like me, a padel addict, and play as frequently as you can. A padel bag is a must buy.
A padel bag stores all of your items conveniently together.
They are especially useful in the hot conditions of the summer, when you are at padel all day, or playing long tournaments.
What should I look for?
A decent padel bag will store:
- Multiple padel rackets
- Food and water
- Devices (phone, airpods, laptop)
- Small essentials (keys, wallet, ID, etc..)
If you are buying a padel bags, then make sure that this list is covered.
A good padel bag will also have multiple compartments to separate your equipment, so that your food and water will be away from your devices.
Personally, I recommend this Nox Padel Bag
3. Padel Grips
It is more than likely that your padel racket will have a grip already on it.
Especially in the hot weather, changing your padel grips is essential.
If you play a shot, and your hand slips a fraction, the quality of the shot will fall dramatically.
You need to make sure that you have a lot of padel grips, so that you can frequently change them on your racket.
We have padel grips available in our padel shop here.
4. A racket Protector
A racket protector is a great way to maintain your padel racket.
Due to the way padel is played, with the walls surrounding you, it is likely that you will hit the walls with your racket, this can easily cause scratches and blows to your racket.
A racket protector stops this.
Protecting the frame of the racket and keeping it in great condition.
5. Good Padel Balls
Bringing out a fresh set of brand new balls every time you play is a sign that you are a good padel player.
Balls that don’t bounce determine many factors:
- Defending becomes a lot harder
- The ball not rise as much when played with topspin
- The game isn’t as fun
Rallies go on for much longer when the ball is bouncier, so make sure that you have a fresh set of new balls.
What balls are the best?
These are the brands I would recommend for balls.
- Kuikma (bouncy, sustainable)
- Bullpadel (bouncy, sustainable)
