The adidas Metalbone ZZ Carbon is Zinedine Zidane's first padel racket: a round, control-first Metalbone for advanced players who win points with placement rather than raw power.
- Shape: Round, so the sweet spot is big and central. Off-centre hits stay in play, giving you control and forgiveness.
- Level: Suits advanced players.
- Face: Carbon, firmer and more direct, turning your swing speed straight into ball speed.
- Balance: Medium, an even feel between quickness in hand and punch on the ball.
- Weight: 360-375g, a middle-ground weight most players adapt to quickly.
- Surface: A rough finish grips the ball, making slice and topspin easier to add.
- Standout: A 3K carbon face over a soft EVA core gives a crisp, precise touch without the harshness of the stiffer power Metalbones, and the longer Extra Power Grip still lets you finish at the net.
- Value: Part of the price is the Zidane edition and collector's box. If you just want the round Metalbone control feel, the Metalbone Carbon CTRL 2026 does a similar job for about £70 less. Still developing? It is more racket than you need, so go for the softer, lighter Metalbone Team Light 2026.
- Carbon 3K Face: A fine-weave carbon face (it is printed on the racket) that gives a crisp, precise response with plenty of feel on touch shots, rather than the stiff, explosive feel of the power Metalbones.
- EVA Soft Performance Core: A low-density rubber core that soaks up vibration and keeps the ball on the face a fraction longer, so you get comfort and control in long rallies.
- Octagonal Structure: An eight-sided carbon tube in the frame that cuts twisting on impact, so off-centre hits still go where you aimed them.
- Low Poly: A faceted design in the frame and throat that adds stiffness, giving you more pop on attacking shots than most round rackets.
- Extra Power Grip: A longer handle that adds swing inertia for extra power on smashes and gives you more room for two-handed backhands.
- Spin Blade Decal and Smart Holes Curve: A raised 3D texture on the face plus a curved hole pattern, both there to help the ball grip for slice and topspin.
- Structural Reinforcement: Extra reinforcement in the build for durability over thousands of hits.
- Zinedine Zidane Edition: White and champagne finish with the ZZ monogram on the throat, supplied in the adidas x Zidane collector's box.

How do I choose the right padel racket for my skill level and playing style?
Start with your level, then your style. As a rough guide: round rackets have a big sweet spot and maximum control, ideal for beginners and defensive players. Teardrop rackets balance power and control, perfect for most intermediate players. Diamond rackets are power-focused with a smaller sweet spot, best for advanced, aggressive players. The quickest way to narrow it down is our Racket Quiz, answer a few questions about your level, style and budget and it'll recommend the best options currently in stock. You can also check out our YouTube channel where we review and test rackets on court, or just message us on WhatsApp and we'll recommend one personally.
