Video overview

The Bullpadel Ionic Control is a round control racket for intermediate players: a Glaphite carbon and glass face over a Multieva core, with a low balance that keeps it quick at the net. The most manoeuvrable of the three Ionics.
- Shape: Round, so the sweet spot is big and central. Off-centre hits stay in play, giving you control and forgiveness.
- Level: Suits intermediate players.
- Face: Blend of carbon and fibreglass, sitting between the two: crisper than fibreglass, more forgiving than full carbon.
- Balance: Low, handle heavy. The head feels light and quick in your hand, easy at the net.
- Weight: 365-375g, a sturdier build with more stability and weight behind the ball.
- Surface: A rough finish grips the ball, making slice and topspin easier to add.
- Standout: Bullpadel rates it 4 for manoeuvrability and 3 for control, with power at 1. The round head and handle-side balance make it very easy to get into position with, which is what a control racket should do.
- Value: Materials are identical across the Ionic range, so you are choosing on shape. This is the control one. If you want to attack more, the Ionic Power is the same build as a head-heavy diamond. If you want a lighter all-rounder, the Ionic Light is a 350-360g teardrop.
- Glaphite face: A face mixing glass fibre with carbon. It sits between fibreglass comfort and carbon firmness, which is why Bullpadel uses it on its mid-price rackets.
- Multieva core: Three layers of EVA foam at different densities. Hard hits reach the firmer outer layers for pace; slow touch shots stay in the softer middle for feel.
- 3D Grain surface: A textured pattern moulded into the face. It grips the ball for spin without the wear of a sand finish.
- Carbon Tube frame: A frame made from woven carbon fibre. It keeps the head stable and stops it twisting on off-centre hits.
- XForce: Reinforcement in the heart for stability on off-centre hits.
- 365-375g, low balance: Standard adult weight with the balance towards the handle, so the round head stays quick and easy to position.

How do I choose the right padel racket for my skill level and playing style?
Start with your level, then your style. As a rough guide: round rackets have a big sweet spot and maximum control, ideal for beginners and defensive players. Teardrop rackets balance power and control, perfect for most intermediate players. Diamond rackets are power-focused with a smaller sweet spot, best for advanced, aggressive players. The quickest way to narrow it down is our Racket Quiz, answer a few questions about your level, style and budget and it'll recommend the best options currently in stock. You can also check out our YouTube channel where we review and test rackets on court, or just message us on WhatsApp and we'll recommend one personally.
