Nerbo WPT review - 5 reasons to buy
The Nerbo WPT review.
This is the NOX Nerbo WPT Padel Racket. An advanced powerful racket priced at £246.99.
But what makes it so good?
What makes it “world padel tour” standard?
I have broken down this racket into 5 categories to ensure you find the answer.
- Shape.
- Weight.
- Type of player it is designed for.
- Material.
- Special features.
1. Shape
Shape is important because it defines MANY factors.
For example, where the sweet spot is, whether the racket is power or control, and what type of player would suit this racket.
The Nerbo WPT is diamond-shaped.
This means the sweet spot is at the top of the racket.
Remember, the sweet spot is the most effective place to strike the ball.
Due to this shape, it means the racket allows for a lot more power than other rackets.
Do you like to smash the ball? Do you want more power on your shots?
If you answered yes, then this is the racket for you.
2. Weight
The weight of the Nerbo WPT is 360g to 375g.
This is the average weight of a padel racket, so it is not on the light or heavy side.
This gives you a bit of a mix, so, you should experience a powerful shot with this racket, however not have the issues of the racket being too heavy and weighing you down.
If you want more information on how weight can effect the racket, check out “how to choose a padel racket“
3. Who Should Use It?
If you are someone who’s game is all about playing soft, control and precision, then this racket is NOT for you.
On the other hand…
Are you are a player who likes to pressure the opponent, play aggressive shots, and enjoys the big smash?
If you think yes, then this IS the racket for you.
The Nerbo WPT is SPECIFICALLY designed for aggressive players that want to pressure their opponents.
The other type of player who may want this, is someone who struggles to generate power, and needs more.
4. Material
The Nerbo WPT has a multilayered core and a rough surface. This achieves two impressive results.
The multilayered core lengthens the lifespan of the racket, so, it should last 2-3 years with good care.
The rough surface allows the player to have more grip and spin on the ball.
Again this can be beneficial for the smash as if you want lots of kick and topspin, it is easier with this racket!
More aspects of the material
- The face of the racket is 18k carbon fibre, this allows for extra power.
- Black rubber in the core allowing for optimum power transfer.
- Strong frame, less likely to crack.
5. Special Features
One of the main special features of this racket is that is has the AVS technology equipped with it.
AVS stands for anti-vibration-system.
This advanced technology minimises the vibrations to your arm as you hit the ball. Causing less stress on your arm as you play.
This feature also increases control, as your arm will be more stable as you strike the ball.
This is one of the great things about this racket, it is very powerful, but it does maintain some control as well.
My Ratings and Recommendations
My Nerbo WPT review:
It is an excellent padel racket for power and durability. Aggressive players who like the smash will love this. The other benefit is that it still maintains some control so that your game is still balanced.
The downside is that due to the shape, players who love a light racket will not get along with this.
I would NOT recommend this for people who have tennis elbow/epicondylitis problems.
My overall rating
I calculate my rating on a 1-10 scale, judging the appearance, how effective it is for what it is meant for (if it is meant for power and has no power then it 0/10), and material.
My overall rating is 27/30! (8/10 for appearance, 10/10 for what it is meant for and 9/10 for material.)
